2 Things I learned from making this today... 1) I need to purchase straws because they are both pretty and functional. 2) I anticipate many liquid blog posts and many liquid meals this summer... it's already been grossly hot, and we ain't got no AC in the kitchen! :/ I've drank this or some version of this about 4 days in a row now. Easiest thing ever and so darn good. Impossible to screw up!

Total time: >5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 5 ice cubes
  • 1/2C almond milk
  • 1 tbsp sunbutter
  • 2 tsp flax seed (add more if you don't mind the graininess!)

1. Put everything in a blender and blend for a few minutes (or a few seconds if you're lucky enough to have this or this) until it's well mixed and the ice is crushed!

>Note1: Chilled full-fat canned coconut milk is also wonderful with banana and sunbutter, I just used my last can the day before making a similar shake ;) 1/3C and less ice cubes make it more creamy. If you want it a bit ice-ier and more like a smoothie, you can put your shake back in the freezer for 15 minutes and then drink.
